We envisage the role of the Project Director to be that of a central hub around which various spokes revolve. The position will work with the BOD of the Foundation, key personnel of implementing partners, financial institutions, donor communities, responsible Government and Non Government authorities and finally the project targeted community individuals and organization members.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS POSSESSED BY THE CANDIDATE FOR PROJECT DIRECTOR:

  • Familiarity with proper banking procedures and a knack for working with numbers
  • Patient yet resilient in getting work done despite bureaucratic procedural roadblocks
  • Naturally empathetic with the ability to reach out and connect with people of all strata
  • Fluently conversant in Nepali, English and any other local language(s)
  • Ability to use modern technology to achieve grassroots goals

 

DAY TO DAY WORK OF THE CANDIDATE FOR PROJECT DIRECTOR WILL BE:

  • Co-ordinate with banks and implementing partners to track progress vis-a-vis project plan.
  • Obtain and review portfolio reports from banks and implementing partners on a regular basis.
  • Monitor progress of beneficiaries and measure impact post disbursal on an ongoing basis through site visits, interviews etc. as appropriate.
  • Liaise with Social Welfare Council and ensure that all regulatory requirements are complied with.
  • Engage in continuous research in order to enhance the project impact and to identify future programs.
  • Network with donor community and other stakeholders to share ideas and best practices.
  • Prepare reports for consumption by the Board, donors and regulators as required.
  • Acquaint patrons, stakeholders and people at large on a regular basis about activities of Avsar with a view to securing co-operation from all.
  • Carry out other assigned tasks.
