Job Description

Position Title : Program Director

Location : Antenna Foundation Nepal, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur

Salary : As per appointment letter, up to level/grade 6K (Below NRs. 85, 300/-)

Line Manager/reporting : Executive Director

Summary of the position:

The Program Director will lead both Program and Production of all programs at AFN. S/He will report to

Executive Director. Her/His main responsibilities include but not be limited to:

Production Management

Lead:

  • Be responsible to all program production, training and distribution of Antenna Foundation programs to ensure that programmes and projects are delivered on time, to agreed budgets and to the highest standards. This may include input into the design of programme and projects; supporting to establish suitable procedures; implementing them; and monitoring the delivery of programme/projects against agreed objectives and the work plan.
  • Ensure all projects in development adhere to AFN policies and guidelines and are steered through the organisation’s review procedures in a timely manner, ensuring all feedback is incorporated into final design.
  • Liaise with all AFN Team, particularly production and programme, admin/finance, and M & E, to coordinate their support for projects and ensure delivery of specific components of projects as agreed.
  • Supervise issues/themes and approaches for all media contents/programs produced by AFN.
  • Ability to host radio programs, whenever required, is an added advantage.
  • Be responsible to maintain Antenna’s editorial quality and compliance of all programmes and contents/materials produced.
  • Provide clear guidance and allocate responsibilities to sub-ordinates, including task oversight, professional development and performance management.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with different stakeholders for programme production.
  • Mobilize available budgets related to production in consultation with the Finance and Administration Manager.

Support:

  • Support to ED to proposal development, including identifying and engaging with donors; and providing inputs into proposals and budgets.
  • Assist ED and Admin/Finance Manager on preparing narrative report to donors.
  • Oversee design and execution of all production related trainings built along different projects.

Others:

  • Maintain proper documentation of work, including of discussions at internal and external meetings.
  • Represent AFN externally to donors and other interested parties, as required.
  • Organize regular meetings with program and production team.
  • Contribute regularly to the development of AFN, its objectives through sharing of information and
  • its institutional learning efforts.
  • Perform any other job related work as advised by the Executive Director.

Key Requirements

  • Masters degree with at least 5-years experience or Bachelors degree with at least 7-years experience
  • Supervising issues/themes and approaches for all media content/programs produced by AFN
  • Familiar with studio handling as well as audio and visual recording and editing software
  • Provide inputs into proposals and budgets
  • Provide clear guidance and allocate responsibilities to sub-ordinates, including task oversight, professional development and performance management
  • An ability to write clear and concise reports; good spoken and written English
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and initiative
