Functional Relationships
Under the overall supervision from the Head Representative (HR) and the Finance Officer, the incumbent assists in / carries out the accounting, administration and documentation of all financial matters of AWO International’s Nepal Office and its partner organizations in the project region. S/he is supporting the finance department in all financial matters in line with Nepal and German legal requirements in addition to double-entry accounting and management of the internal accounting software.
Overall responsibilities
Accounting & obligatory documentation of all financial transactions of the Nepal Office and the partner organisations in the project region/s
Compilation of Books of Accounts of the Nepal Office and partner organisations
Maintenance of the financial documents filing structure in coordination with the Finance Officer
Compilation of the statements of expenditures (MSoAs) of the Nepal Office and the partner organisations
Compilation of quarterly and yearly financial reports of the Nepal Office and the partner organisation
Compilation of fund requests of the Nepal Office and the partner organisations
Issuing timely payments to vendors / suppliers and salary payments (Nepal Office)
Supervision of cash transaction and maintenance of Nepal Office’s vouchers
Preparation of monthly Bank Reconciliations
Assistance to the Finance Officer in planning of the Nepal Office finances and other finance related issues
Physical examination of the partners accounts and the obligatory financial documentation (incl. partner visits) in coordination / cooperation with the Finance Officer and program team
Supporting the government audits of the office and the partner organisations in the project region
Substitution for the Finance Officer in case of absence in close cooperation / coordination with the HR and the Berlin Office
Regular communication with the Finance Desk of the Head Quarter / Berlin Office on accounting procedures
Your profile
Master degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
A minimum experience of 2 - 3 years in similar position in NGO/INGO.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting.
Excellent organizational skills, including ability to work under pressure.
Excellent knowledge of English and Nepali (spoken and written)
Commencement of assignment preferably on 16. March 2020
