ESP On-Site Community Assistant (8 positions based in project-affected districts)

Job Summary: The Environmental and Social Performance (ESP) On-Site Community Assistants are responsible for organizing community support for project activities. They will be based in project-affected districts (Chitwan, Dhading, Kathmandu, Makwanpur, Nawalparasi, Nuwakot, Palpa, Sindhupalchok, Tanahun) and are expected to interact with local communities, including disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum Intermediate Degree in any discipline;
  • Past experience in projects requiring environmental and social performance according to international standards;
  • Prior experience in communications, stakeholder engagement and consultation along with outreach in relevant district preferred;
  • Ability to converse in local language in relevant district is preferred.

Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MCA-Nepal) is a Government of Nepal agency formed by a cabinet-level executive order in accordance with the Development Board Act 2013 BS (1956 AD) in order to manage the Compact/program developed by the Office of the Millennium Challenge Nepal (OMCN) in coordination with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), USA. MCA-Nepal is governed by a Board chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and its day-to-day operations are managed by its Executive Director. The Board consists of joint secretaries of Nepali government line ministries, representatives from the private sector and civil society, the MCA-Nepal Executive Director, and the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
