Civil Engineer

Job Description

• Discussing requirements with the client and other professionals (e.g architects)
• Analysing survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modelling software
• Drawing up blueprints, using computer aided design (CAD) packages
• Judging whether projects are workable by assessing materials, costs and time requirements
• Assessing the environmental impact and risks connected to projects
• Can come up with innovative new ideas & share with the team.
• Managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a project
• Making sure sites meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements.

Job Specification

• Should have a dynamic personality, ability to work on fields on demand.
• Should have a knowlege of CAD tools
• Have a good knowlege of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
• Sound mathematical and technical skills.
• Ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage projects.
• Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate.
