The Social Security Fund (SSF) was established on March 21, 2011 under the Social Security Fund (Management and Operational) Regulation, 2011. Government of Nepal had announced social security program coverage through its annual budget for fiscal year 2010/011. Presently, the fund is operating in accordance with the Contributory Social Security Act, 2074 (AD 2017). The main objectives of the SSF is to ensure the right of social security protection through the implementation of policies and plans for such protection and the mobilization of contributions from employers and workers.
