The Public Welfare Society Nepal or JSSN (Janasewa Samaj in Nepali) conducts community development projects in a remote hilly corner in eastern Nepal in education, health, sustainable agriculture, and microfinance. We work to improve the lives of our village neighbors, especially traditionally marginalized groups such as children, dalits ("untouchables"), the poor, the disabled, women, and indigenous people
The JSSN is a secular, non-political, nonprofit and member-based community organization. Its headquarters and meeting hall are in Jalpa Village Development Committee of Khotang District. We have contact offices Diktel Bazaar (district center of Khotang) and also in Okhaldhunga.
At present, we have more than 100 general members and 9 sister organizations. The JSSN has been registered as an NGO with the Khotang District Office since 1991; and is affiliated with the NGO Federation and the Social Welfare Council of Nepal.
