Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities

Management of Information System Associate will report to the National Project Manager:

  • Design and upgrade an MIS system for LRP with guidance and inputs from NPM in line with UNDP’s Gender and Social Inclusion sensitive Monitoring Information System (GSI-MIS).
  • Develop a User Guide/Manual for the database.
  • Conduct orientation on MIS database to all project staff responsible for project implementation.
  • Assist NPM and Institutional Capacity Development Officer and other project staffs to develop appropriate formats and tools for implementing partners to collect and report data to LRP.
  • Orient implementing partners on formats, data needs, data compilation from the field, etc.
  • Populate MIS with data from the field on regular intervals.
  • Monitor, evaluate and follow up the use and results of MIS system at all levels and provide regular technical support.
  • Provide data and information to NPM and other staffs for producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including donor reports as per the need of the programme.
  • Provide regular updated facts and figures in table, graphs, and charts as needed to feed into the project website, brochures, booklets, newsletters, and presentations.
  • Prepare software to create a database for the data collected from the household survey, VDC level participatory assessments, and district level secondary data.
  • Work closely with teams hired by the project to conduct surveys, assessments, reviews, and evaluations, and manage all the knowledge products
  • Review specifications for hardware procurement, software programming, installation, training, operating manuals and maintenance.
  • Develop different software as per the need of the programme.
  • Design an Intranet/share drive for all major programme documents, reports, manuals, communications materials and knowledge products produced by the project.
  • Oversee the development of project website and update it regularly.
  • Provide technical support in computer systems to all project staff.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the NPM

Required Skills and Experience

Qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology.

Experience:

  • Five years of strong professional experience in management information system
  • Experience of working in development projects required.
  • Experience in livelihoods related project would be an advantage.
  • Typing skills in Nepali language would be essential.
