UN-Habitat is implementing a UN Peace building Fund supported project on empowering women for access to land in association with IOM and UNDP as an extension of the on-going Catalytic Support on Land Issues. The key issues considered are relating to the lack of women’s participation and influence in land-related discussions and endeavours to improving women’s ownership of land through enhancing women’s role in key policy discussions on land, and developing gender-sensitive land institutions, processes and tools for verification and registration of land-vulnerable women. The project works in collaboration with GoN agencies like the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Ministry of Women Children and Social Welfare, Ministry of Land Reform and Management and NGOs/CBOs active in promoting land rights at the grass-roots of landless women’s issues. In this context the project seeks applications from qualified Nepalese citizens for the following position:
Project Assistant: one position
Service Contract: SB2/ II level
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Duration of contract: One year with possibility of extension (depending on project term)
Expected Date of Joining: As soon as possible
Required qualifications are Intermediate degree or equivalent in business studies, humanities; commerce, and related fields with Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in admin and finance.
