VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
IM (Individual Manniskohjalp) Swedish Development Partner formerly known as SOIR-IM is a Swedish International Development NGO working in the field of economic empowerment, education, health, strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in 11 countries worldwide. Since 2010, it is working in Nepal as a legal registered INGO having its own country office in Nepal. IM is seeking applications from qualified Nepali citizens for the position of :
 
ASSISTANT FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (AFAO)
The position will be based in IM Nepal Country Office, Kathmandu, Nepal. AFAO will work under overall supervision of the Country Director and the technical supervision of the Senior Finance Officer (SFO). The AFAO will be responsible for providing financial and administrative services to IM Nepal Country Office in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. More specifically, the position will be responsible to:
 
ï‚· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date accounting of IM’s expenditures, in line with the approved budget and existing requirements. This includes, but may not be limited to, preparing vouchers, updating cash book,
accounting entries in accounting software, advance register, and making payments.
ï‚· Contribute in producing relevant financial reports (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports; other periodic
financial reports, project expenditure report, donor report etc) and assist the SFO in the preparation of bank reconciliation statement, trial balance, income and expenditure accounts, and balance sheet.
ï‚· Ensure that the supporting documents attached to vouchers are accurate, valid and that complies with the tax, contract and other contemporary law of Nepal and contribute to ensure the compliance of internal control within IM office.
ï‚· Maintain staffs leave and other records, attendance register, reconciliations, fixed asset registers, purchasing files, agreement files etc.
ï‚· Initiate the procurement process including issuing invitation to bidders and suppliers, collecting quotations and preparing comparison sheets. Prepare purchase orders and contracts for procuring goods and hiring consultants.
ï‚· Keep record of office inventory and maintain inventory ledger. Conduct physical verification and prepare annual physical verification report.
ï‚· Provide IT technical support (trouble shooting) to office staffs.
 
Required Competencies:
Fluency in English and Nepali, excellent interpersonal and team work skills, high level of integrity, confidentiality and drive for results with accuracy, competent in book keeping and logistics management skills, strong computer/IT skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs and IT support to office staffs.
 
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (BBA/BBS with specialization in Accountancy/Finance) with at least 5 years’ of successful experience in the field of accountancy/finance and administration functions in any International and National level development organisations.
