Job Description
Title – Plant Manager
Key Responsibilities
Direct, coordinate and facilitate the daily activities of the plant and ensure workers are accomplishing production goals in a safe, timely, cost effective manner.
Ensure standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production. Ensure fixed assets are preserved.
Prepare and maintain all department, machinery and equipment handling related SOPs.
Develop departmental budget, monitor plant spending, and report on operating costs within functional areas.
Work effectively with plant supervisors and other departments to develop and maintain a positive employee relations environment.
Serve as key member of the plant leadership team in developing the plant’s strategic direction, establishing priorities and allocating resources.
Ensure all staff to report food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate immediate corrective actions.
Ensure routine maintenance of all machinery and equipment are done on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Maintain inventory of all machinery and spare parts and ensure availability of tools and equipment for maintenance activities.
Work with sales for planning and forecast of existing product line and new business.
Maximize productive capabilities to achieve customer satisfaction while attaining operating cost and goals.
Manages and implements change to ensure continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Seven+ years in managing plant operations and maintenance role is required.
Ability to run all maintenance related procedures independently with minimal support.
Familiarity with inventory management system is desired.
Hands on manager who can operate with limited direction preferred.
Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills are required.

• Ability to apply lean principles in all processes within the plant
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
• Strong problem solving, negotiating, and decision making skills with the proven ability to manage complex situations
• Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong time and project management skills
