Forum for Community Upliftment System Nepal (FOCUS-Nepal), a NGO working on humanitarian and development field in Dhading district. FOCUS Nepal, Dhading works in the sector of WASH, Shelter, DRR, Inclusion and protection throughout the district and different places of neighboring district. Our organization is currently having partnership with different partner organizations and working in different thematic areas. Program supported by Christian Aid (Sampanna Resilient Nepal) is currently looking for potential candidate for the following position:
Technical officer( Engineer) – 1
Scope of Work:
Stationed at Siddhalekh Rural Municipality Community, the Technical officer (Engineer) will report to the Project Coordinator of Sampanna Resilient Nepal Project at FOCUS-Nepal. S/he will maintain close coordination and linkage with, Rural Municipality, ward offices, financial department and Project Management Team of FOCUS-Nepal.
Major responsibilities of the Technical officer (Engineer) will include, but is not limited to:
- To supervise, monitor and ensure effective implementation of Small scale irrigation infrastructure, community water supply schemes, disable friendly toilet and collection center construction.
- Have knowledge and skill for Survey, preparing design, estimate and BOQ.
- Good coordination with the community, users groups and construction committee for effective work.
- Effective work with Auto Cat.
- To expedite the ongoing construction schemes to accomplish on or before set deadlines.
- Work closely with project team, community and concerned stakeholders.
- Insure quality of works in the given time and prepare schemes completion report.
- To carry out the jobs assigned by Project Coordinator, Executive Director, project management team, and program Officer of Christian Aid.
Job Specification
Minimum Qualification and Other Requirements:
Candidates should have:
- Completion the course of Bachelor of Civil Engineering from renowned university.
- Having experiences of at least 2 years in the similar field.
- Worked on survey, preparation design, estimate, BOQ, proper implementation in Water supply, irrigation and infrastructure.
- High levels of skills in project planning and management, demonstrated skills in prioritizing task and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication, analytical and report writing skills with fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali.
- Knowledge and skills in computing, demonstrated inter-personal skills in working with a multi-disciplinary team
- Good knowledge and preferred experience on participatory research/ development approaches, community mobilization, and project development and implementation.
- Willingness and enthusiasm for working with rural and vulnerable communities living in remote areas of the country.
