Education
Advanced degree in political sciences, public policy, law, development studies, international development, economics, social sciences, management, or a related field of study.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years progressively responsible experience in managing and implementing statistics and evidence for development related programs in Nepal. Specialized experience in (open) data, governance, statistics and Information technology. Ability to lead politically-informed programming. Work experience in South Asia, preferably in Nepal, is an advantage.
Other
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Nepal political, economic, and social context. Strong background in local governance. Demonstrated knowledge in and enthusiasm for (open) data and its use as evidence for development programming. Excellent program and financial management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Nepali, and ability to harmoniously interact with people from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds. Proven
management, analytical, and research skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to multi-task, critically analyze information, perform under pressure and ensure timely delivery of quality work. Sound conceptual and technical understanding on available information technologies for data analysis, presentation, and dissemination, and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet). Strong monitoring and evaluation skills. Willingness to travel to districts across the country. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Commitment to being based in Nepal for a minimum of 2 years.
