About Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs

Underprivileged Children’s Educational Programs (UCEP) Nepal is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1978 by Dr. Lindsay Alan Cheyne of New Zealand. Main aim of UCEP was to uplift the living conditions of underprivileged, disadvantaged and working children by providing access to education and job oriented technical and vocational training. Initially, it was established as an extension of UCEP-Bangladesh under the umbrella organization UCEP-International. In 1992 UCEP Nepal was thrown asunder from the umbrella organization and was given the status of independent and autonomous organization following formal registration with District Administration Office, Bhaktapur under the Institution Registration Act 2034. It is also affiliated to Social Welfare Council of the government of Nepal, which is mandatory for all NGOs.
