Success Management and Research Team (SMART) Pvt. Ltd. is committed to promote natural resources and biodiversity conservation, health, hygiene and sanitation and socio-economic development.
SMART believes that the continuous development at community level is possible only if need based or people oriented programmes were implemented. Proper utilization of local resources by the communities, users' and their organized groups depends on dedicated public participation, identification and implementation of pro-people projects, impact monitoring and continued research. These initiatives require a great deal of external inputs and purposive motivation.
Since efficient and optimum resource mobilisation is not possible only by the government sector, role of private sector has been witnessed to be pivotal in sensitizing and creating awareness among all sections of the society. Guided and motivated by this very phenomenon, a pragmatic team of social workers, initiated the creation of this company in order to complement and supplement the national plans, policies and priorities of Government of Nepal. The activists, who are well acquainted and familiar with the life and blood of the society, have been instrumental in transforming the attitudes and understanding within the society since the establishment of this organisation. Women's active participation in the governance is the key instrument that has been keeping up the spirit of the organisation.
Nepal's socio-economic set up and the production pattern is extremely diverse. Its potential is yet to be utilized for the development of economically sustainable and environment friendly programmes to uplift the living standards of the marginalised communities, which again should be socially acceptable, as well. As there is a need of proper planning for the sustainability of the community based programmes and to create employment opportunities at the community level, SMART is involved in the development of demand driven and bottom- up approach for the upliftment of the community.
