Job Description

Post Title: WASH Officer (Vacancy Notice No. NEPA/2016-04)

Post Level:  National Officer (NO-B)

Appointment Type: Fixed-Term

Post Location: Nepalgunj

Purpose of the post:

The incumbent of the post is accountable for professional technical contribution to programme/project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of WASH programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals and strategy. 

Your profile for the post:

•   University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Sanitation Engineering, or a field relevant to international WASH related development assistance. Additional training in Health Education or Communication for Development (Programme Communication) will be an asset.
•   Minimum two years of professional work experience in the UN or other international development organization or private sector and national government and field work experience. Background/familiarity with Emergency preparedness and response •   Functional Competencies: Planning and Organizing, Analyzing, Learning and Researching, Formulating Strategies and Concepts and Applying Technical Expertise. •   The candidate must have excellent written and spoken English/Nepali language.
•   Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
