Job Description

RIMS – Nepal is  a not profit making and  nongovernmental organization established in 2001 and is committed to transform  lives and living of poor and vulnerable people by managing resources, building capacity,  promoting social justice and widen collaboration. 

RIMS Nepal is continuing the partnership with MSFP-SSU in delivering MSFP results on all outcome areas in Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu districts for the period covering March 2015 - Mid-July 2016. In order to implement above mention programme, RIMS Nepal invites applications from experienced and qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions.

 

1.     Sustainable Forest Management and Climate Change Expert  (based in Butwal with frequent travel to project districts)

The SFMCC Expert will ensure that priority areas/themes and strategy of MSFP are implemented effectively. The theme expert, in close coordination with the district offices, will implement the forestry and climate change specific outcomes and outputs of MSFP. S/he will be overall responsible to strategic action in sustainable forest management, high altitude forest management, pasture management and climate change.

2.     Gender and Social Inclusion and Livelihoods Expert (based in Butwal with frequent travel to project districts)

The GESI Expert will be responsible for management of social inclusion and development programme of MSFP. S/He will provide technical backstopping to the district based officers and partners in practicing approach of mainstreaming gender, poverty, equity and social inclusion into MSFP practices and interventions. The theme leader will also liaise with MSFP SSU and other regional theme leaders to ensure that gender and social inclusion issues are well reflected and scaled up in MSFP areas.

3.     Admin & Finance Monitoring Coordinator(based in Butwal with frequent travel to project districts)

The AFMC will be responsible to conduct audits for management to assess adequacy and effectiveness of control, accuracy of financial records, efficiency of operations and the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguarded. AFMC will examine the financial/operational records, process documentations and reports to ensure compliance with RIMS-Nepal asserted controls, donor requirements and applicable laws and regulations. AFMC inspects, facilitate and coach accounting and operational systems both at regional Office and the LIPOs to develop their efficiency and protective value; determines deficiencies in control, duplication of efforts, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with management policies or procedures. AFMC prepares reports of findings and recommendations for management.

  1. District Program Coordinator based in Nawalparasi District)

The District Program Coordinator will be responsible for overall coordination of MSFP programme at the district level. He/she will represent programme in the district and ensure that priority areas/themes of MSFP are implemented effectively. S/he will be overall responsible to implement MSFP management strategy with providing strategic direction and technical advice/support to DFO and other stakeholders on promoting institutional development and climate change and sustainable forest management practices in the district. In addition, the DPC shall focus on enterprise development and promotion in partnership with private parties.
