Job Description

Accelerating Investment and Infrastructure in Nepal (AIIN) — APPI IC invites applications from qualified Nepalese citizens for the following consulting staff positions at the Office of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), a client that AIINAPPIIC has been supporting through the bilateral support program from the Department for International Development (DFID), United Kingdom.

1. PROJECT OFFICER

Responsibilities:

1. Under the guidance of the project manager, oversee project(s) with large infrastructure(s) that have significant externalities.

2.  Prepare appropriate tools, e.g. monitoring frameworks to track implementation plan, agreed milestones & planned results, as well as undertake field supervision missions.

3. Good grasp of the project(s') technical, legal & financial aspects/issues, so as to develop plans to address them for overall project readiness.

4. Focal person for project management functions, responsible for interaction and coordination with project staff as well as external stakeholders (relevant ministries, lobby groups, regulators, lenders, and multilateral agencies).

5. Work with the procurement team on the planning and development of fair, transparent and robust procurement process related to all project related procurements as necessary.

6. Undertake timely field supervision missions on the progress of activities of projects.

Desired Competencies:

Qualification

Master's degree  (Business / Finance / Economics).

Experience & Ability:

·          2 years in a similar role in the development / private sector.

·          Experience or strong ability in working with the Government is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

· Strong planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing skill.

· Strong analytical, spreadsheet, data-management, and presentation skills.

· Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English (spoken as well as written).

· Ability to write quick reports, status update as well as convincing verbal skills will be important.
