STRENGTHENING THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS PROJECT (SALGP)

 

Vacancy Announcement

 

Strengthening the Accountability of Local Governments (SALG) is a joint collaboration of Government of Nepal and Government of Switzerland with COMAT-ASTHA-JV as its implementing agency. The overall objective of SALG is to strengthen the demand driven governance by increasing engagement of citizen and civic actors, particularly the disadvantaged groups in the local governance processes. A Project Support Unit (PSU) has been established at the central level for the management of the project. In its first phase till July 2017, the project is being implemented in Achham, Kalikot, Dailekh, Jajarkot, Surkhet, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap and Sindhuli districts. The SALG Project Support Unit (PSU) invites applications from qualified and experienced Nepalese citizens for the following Kathmandu based position.

 

POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER

 

BASIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in project management or governance related areas with 15 years or more experienced in implementation and management of donor funded or national governance projects. S/he should have the extensive knowledge on civic engagement, decentralization and local governance in Nepal and the current issues associated with these areas. Experience in application of social accountability tools to promote downward accountability at local level will be a highly added advantage.  

 

 LANGUAGE: Excellent verbal and written language skills in Nepali and English required.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS: The salary and benefits for the above mentioned post will be in accordance with the Operational Guidelines of COMAT- ASTHA JV.

 

MODE OF EXAMINATIONS: Written test, group discussion and interview.
