Job Description

General Requirements:

Education – First level university degree in economics, business, sociology, anthropology or other relevant field.

Experience – At least two years of experience in multilateral M&E plans, frameworks and indicators

Languages –– Excellent command of communication in English and Nepali, both oral and written.

Competencies- Knowledge of programme and budget, project administration and evaluation concepts and procedures. Knowledge of the office’s financial rules and regulations. Knowledge of result based matrix. Ability to prepare M&E reports. Demonstrated ability to establish databases, manage and evaluate rural roads maintenance. Demonstrated technical expertise in formulating new concepts and methodologies, training materials, alternative courses of action and project proposals. Familiarity with programme integration concepts, gender mainstreaming, and employment promotion is essential. Ability to interpret project and programme information and to identify and analyze problems with implementation. Good drafting skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to clarify information. Good computer applications skills. Organizational skills. Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team. Ability to deal with people with tact and diplomacy. Ability to supervise staff.

Job Specific competencies and skills:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience to work with a variety of stakeholders and partners including trade unions and employers, along with donors.
  • Ability to work with government and social partners on value chain, labour standards and human rights and workers welfare issues.
  • Proven orientation and technical skills to obtain, manage and share data, information and knowledge from different sources, for the defined purpose/targeted audience.
  • Proven experience and demonstrated skills in value chain and DCED results-based monitoring and reporting in the projects for value chain development/socio-economic human development and/or for labour rights, will be an added advantage.
  • Facilitation skills, and the ability to provide objective advice and guidance to potential applicants
