Knowledge, Policy and Governance Manager will lead, manage, coordinate and monitor thematic objectives of AAN Country Strategy Paper (CSP) IV to achieve overall organisational goals of poverty eradication.
Major Responsibility:

Lead and design effective programme related policies and strategies that supports overall organisational strategy and direction

Provide policy and governance leadership to all AAN programme teams to ensure effective development and implementation of the Policy and Governance objective in line with AAN CSP IV

Ensure effective management of staff and budget of Knowledge, Policy and the Governance department

Establish and sustain effective network linkage and relation with Resource Centres, alliances, donors and within wider AA International offices

Undertake tasks pertaining to corporate responsibilities
Key Competencies required:

Master’s Degree in Social Sciences/ Public Administration or any other relevant field. Expertise in Policy, Governance, and Public Management is highly preferable.

Seven years of experience in programme and project management with at least three years in senior level management.

Excellent knowledge of programme, planning and budgeting

Excellent language skills in English and Nepali including the ability to compose, edit, analyse and produce policy documents using complex information

Knowledge and perspective about Civil Society and Human Rights Based Approach to development

Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills
This is a senior level position based in Kathmandu with frequent travel within the country. The position is offered for two years. Deadline for application is 1stJuly 2015.
