Job Description
The Carter Center is seeking qualified candidates for open positions to support its international election observation mission to the 2017 provincial and parliamentary elections. 1. Long-Term Observer Assistant/Interpreter

Assist and interpret for a Carter Center long-term observer team; organization of meetings. Includes extensive travel outside of Kathmandu.

Position runs for approx. 35 days, from early-November to mid-December 2017.
2. Short-Term Observer Assistant/Interpreter
-
Assist and interpret for a Carter Center short-term observer team around the Dec 7, 2017 second phase of national elections. Includes extensive travel outside of Kathmandu.

Position runs for 7 days around the December 7 second phase elections.
3. Program Officer (Political Analyst/Assistant)

Assist the mission's Field Office Director and Deputy Field Office Director, including providing political analysis, assisting with meeting setup, providing meeting interpretation, translation, and other duties as required.

Position runs for approx. two months, from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017.

Requisite university degree and at least 5 years of experience.
4. Program Officer (Observer Coordinator Assistant)

Provide the Carter Center's Observer Coordinator with assistance around the deployment of long- and short-term observers. Interpretation or translation as needed.

Position runs for approx. two months, from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, 2017.

5. Program Officer (Election/Legal Analyst Assistant)

Provide the Carter Center's Electoral/Legal Analyst with assistance during assessment of the electoral/legal framework; interpretation/translation; and organization of meetings.
