Magic Bus India Foundation, Nepal Country Office is an International Development Organization (INGO) that works with some of the world’s poorest children and young people to ensure they move from childhood to livelihood. We equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to grow up and move out of poverty.  Magic Bus has its country offices in UK, USA, Singapore, Germany, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal. Magic Bus Nepal Country Office has been working in Nepal since 2016 as a legal registered INGO having its own country office in Lalitpur, Nepal. 

Training cum Curriculum Development Manager, Nawalparasi based

POSITION:

Training cum Curriculum Development Manager. This position is based in Magic Bus Nepal Country Office (INGO), Nawalparasi district.

This position is initially for one year for 2017 for now with possibility of extension as a long term position upon availability of funding.

ROLE:

  • Lead the Training cum curriculum development Function.
  • The role holder will be accountable for heading the function.
  • Develop Training content and contextualize MB Childhood to Livelihood (C2L) Curriculum in Nepal context and build capacity of training teams
  • Oversee quality of training of delivery teams across the country
  • Conduct regular research for further enhancement of the Training curriculum on a regular basis
  • Visit field locations to carry out quality audits for the organization

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contextualize curriculums with translations in Nepali language for Magic Bus target groups including children, youth and communities across developmental domain areas
  • Implement a measurement framework for monitoring and evaluation of training program
  • Ensure that appropriate research is done to develop high quality training program
  • Ensure high quality training for Magic Bus Nepal Programme
  • Ensure that trainers are trained on delivering programs as per magic bus standards
  • Oversee the quality of trainers
  • Planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting of the performance of the function to the management.
  • Manage a team of national /district trainers and be responsible for the performance and motivation of the team members for implementation.
  • Liaison with DDC, DEO, other district authorities, community schools / universities to promote Magic Bus program and methodology.
  • Assist in preparing training plan and yearly program planning.
  • Capacity building of the project team members and implementing partners in district.
  • Report writing with district level program data capturing and data management.

DESIRED COMPENTENCIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of various training tools and techniques in the areasof development, training contentand training delivery to the target group.
  • Knowledge of sports and games, physical activity, delivery and output as per Log Frame.
  • Knowledge of child development, youth development and community programmes.
  • Required knowledge of School Education System, preferable government school system.
  • Familiar with social issues like child protection, child rights, gender discrimination, education, among others.
  • Understand basic behavioral change theory, child psychology, pedagogy and andragogy.
  • Fluency in speaking Nepali, English, Hindi and local Languages in the community.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in managing large teams in implementation level.
  • Dealing with external bodies, Government authorities, Academics, Corporate, Research Bodies, etc.
  • Pro-activeness and self-starter of own work with work prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a challenging environment including travel to rural and remote areas and working extra hours.
  • Ability to multi task, and respond to program needs and changes on a short notice.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree in Management/ Social Work/ Curriculum Development/ Physical Education/ Sports/ any other Social Sciences.
  • 5 to 8 years in the social sector out of which 5 years must have been in a similar leadership role.
  • Proven track record of performance in similar role and stability on the previous roles shall be the added advantage.

 

Tentative Time allocation for key Functions

  • 80% of time to be used in Developing Training Content, Training delivery and Monitoring training activities to ensure quality.
  • 20 % of time to be used in the contextualization of MB Curriculum incorporating the local needs and practices.
