Black Box Academy emerged after eighteen years of experience working as Nepal’s first educator of Animation, VFX and Game Development. Founded by a visionary team of both creators and entrepreneurs, it has filled the gap between existing institutions and studios; outfitting a burgeoning ecosystem of businesses that demand talent. We are currently building a team to embark on this new adventure and are looking for committed and passionate individuals that want to be part of it.

The Sketching Module Faculty is both full and part-time. They are responsible for developing students interest in the ability to create complex compositions and drawings. They will teach basic drawing techniques that are consistent with our courses structures; a methodology approved by our Academic Committee. The applicant must be able to convey aesthetic concepts and discover talent. A core part of the position is to develop training materials for our students and support them in creating work of a higher standard.

Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Programme Director and with guidance from the Dean, the Sketching Faculty will:

• ​Give support in developing the programme curriculum.
• Build an academic calendar.
• Aid the Deputy Program Director in the building, scheduling and rescheduling of batches; all while coordinating with the
• Deputy Program Director for final approval.
• Conduct classes as scheduled.
• Coordinate with the academic committee to introduce feasible schemes to upgrade skills when necessary.
• Introduce fundamental approaches to drawing techniques using different mediums, materials and processes.
• Prepare students for exhibitions in and outside the school.
• Oversee attendance records of students and inform Student Services if a consistent irregularity occurs.
• Participate in departmental meetings and communicate necessary information with fellow Faculties, Heads of Departments and the Deputy Program Director.
• Identify areas of improvements and ensure the smooth and proper functioning of the programmes.
• Instruct students in the proper usage and care of the facilities including both tools and equipment.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Working conditions

This job operates in an office environment located at the front desk of our college. There will be extensive people interaction.

Skills:

• Good knowledge of materials, art processes and the ability to communicate and work with students.
• Sound knowledge of art history and art criticism.
• Have a keen understanding of the animation pipeline and the ability to give a perspective of art concerning animation.
• Knowledge of Fundamental of Animation and its 12 principles
• Strong computer skills including use of a tablet.
• Explore and encourage students to use new materials and techniques.
• Ability and willingness to discern and meet the needs of students.
• Ability to establish interpersonal rapport and relate to individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to work with others in a collegial and productive manner.
