Nepal Health Sector Support Programme (NHSSP) is a technical assistance programme to the Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), funded with UK Aid, designed to support the goals of Nepal Health Sector Strategy (2015/16 - 2020/21) and contribute to the MoHP’s efforts to provide quality health services leaving no-one behind. It is implemented by a consortium led by Options Consultancy Limited, with HERD International and Oxford Policy Management.
Options Consultancy seeks an Information Systems (IS) Officer to provide TA under the Data for Decision-making (D4D) Thematic Area. The aim of this thematic area is to provide effective technical inputs to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to enable them to deliver against the objectives of NHSP 3.
The Information Systems (IS) Officer will provide technical assistance (TA) under the D4D thematic area to Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). The key objectives of this role are to: support MoHP to design, maintain, and troubleshoot information systems; maintain back up of API (Application Programming Interface) documentation/source codes; and provide conceptual clarity on building interoperable systems. The IS Officer will also support effective implementation of national databases to promote use of information and evidence in decision making.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information technology, or a related field (Masters Preferred)
Proven experience (at least 3 years) of working on health information systems within the health sector
Experience in conceiving, planning and executing information systems implementations with multi-stakeholder engagement
Familiarity with web-based data management and data display system management
Familiarity with development of web based/android based data collection tools
Proficiency level of knowledge on DHIS2
Proven skills on data transformation, linkage and data security
General understanding of the operations of the Govt of Nepal, MoHP, and familiarity with all spheres of government.
