1. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Assistant marketing managers support marketing activities through the planning, organization and implementation of market research to obtain data that gives information regarding consumer preferences and market trends.
They interpret data obtained from market survey to produce results which are useful in identifying a target market or in determining the demand for a product/service.
They also possess full knowledge of a company’s targets/values and employ this knowledge in product marketing operations
Usually assistant marketing managers are responsible for contacting potential customers through cold calls, emails or home visits in order to create awareness for products and improve sales.
They establish good rapport with clients and ensure customer relationship is maintained to reduce clientele attrition.
As part of their duties, assistant marketing managers provide support to their senior managers in the development of pricing strategies; they help them carry out studies to determine product/service price most affordable to consumers ad profitable to company.
Their work description also involves overseeing the activities of marketing teams to ensure designated tasks and set targets are achieved.
They also conduct surveys to determine consumer reception of a new product usually by analyzing product features, market trend and price.
Assistant marketing managers are in charge of writing press releases and statements for promotion products on media channels
They bear the responsibility of organizing promotional events or advertising as part of marketing strategies.
They also prepare and present regular reports to superiors on marketing activities and results of implemented plans.
In fulfilling their role, assistant marketing managers oversee the design, editing and publication of promotional materials such as flyers and advert posts
They maintain record of proposals and accounts, and occasionally attend seminars and conference to improve on exiting knowledge.
The assistant marketing manager job position basically requires a Bachelor’s degree in any field of study most preferably in marketing,business studies, finance and other business related disciplines.
The qualities necessary for success on the job include communication skills, team work skills and organizational skills.
Prepare and implement marketing plans and action plans for he 14-19 aduld and employer markets.
Carry out market research (e.g. identifying information gaps; analyzing recruitment trends and labour market trends; customer needs, competitor, key influencer and public perceptions analyses).
Manage the external design and print process.
Oversee the production and timely completion of print and web based marketing materials.
Ensure that agreed performance standards and targets are met.
Meeting the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the College’s Health & Safety procedures.
Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the grade of the post.
Members of the marketing team
Active member of the marketing plan committee.
Actively involved in the execution of the marketing plans.
Distribution & Revenue
In conjunction with Revenue Manager & Director of Sales and Marketing, maximize inventory and catering space (where applicable), identify opportunities for focused sales programs and activities
Coordinate group room forecasts with the events management and reservations
Asses group business to maximize contribution from available public space, generating room revenues whiles achieving banqueting budgets
Ensure that the need periods are covered by short term bookings using creative packages via media and Last minute internet platforms

Analyze on quarterly basis in cooperation with the Revenue Manager/ASOSM the allotment pick up vs targets.
Maintain close, frequent, open communication with the Area Direction of Sales & Marketing and other Sales and Marketing department heads.
Maintain supportive timely communications with outbound Sales Offices and other properties
Update property operational departments to ensure awareness of sales activities and actions maintain timely and responsive communication with accounts and prospects.
Promote efficiency, confidence, courtesy and high standard of social skills
Promote and ensure good inter-departmental relations
Display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and promote a good company image to clients and colleagues
Demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times when representing the company thus identifying a high level of commitment
Adhere to Company rules and regulations at all times
Ensure that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.
