Role and Responsibilities:

Provide technical advice and support to the field management and the shelter staff. Develop, lead, monitor and evaluate the shelter aspects of the country programme. This will include coordinating and networking at a senior level with national and regional authorities and other NGOs, providing capacity building for national and international staff, championing best practices (international and Medair) in the shelter programmes and contributing to the overall management of the country programme.

Job Specification

Experience / Competencies / Profile sought for this position:

  • Experienced professional with 5 years or more relevant relief or development experience.
  • Relevant post-qualification professional experience, in a management position
  • Advanced planning, assessment and analytical skills
  • Good report and proposal writing skills
  • Advanced leadership and project management skills
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels ï‚· Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Fully committed to the Medair values; to reflect the vision and values of Medair with team members, local staff, and external contacts
  • Able to live and work in a multicultural team under difficult conditions, committed to team-building.
