Job Description

Purpose: To serve as a chief administrator of Kopila Valley School in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets.  To provide internal leadership in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.

Kopila Valley School focuses on creating a culturally vibrant, bilingual school culture that supports the whole student (physical, social, emotional). We are seeking an outside-the-box thinker who encourages new approaches to teaching and discovery learning, is versed in emerging education models, and fosters an innovative student-based approach to learning.  A strong candidate actively seeks to build partners with other schools, engages the community, and develops educational programs that are focused on best practices in instruction and positive student outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities Include: 

  • General Planning: conceptualizes the broad goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total school program.
  • General Coordination: ensures that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school system. The principal defines the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and develops plans for interpreting the school program to the community.
  • Facilitates Organizational Efficiency: maintains inter-school system communication and seeks assistance from central office staff to improve performance. The principal maintains good relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Supplies and Equipment: manages, directs, and maintains records on the materials, supplies and equipment which are necessary to carry out the daily school routine. The principal involves the staff in determining priorities for instructional purposes.

Requirements:

  • Fluent Nepali and English speaker
  • Masters degree, at least 5 years experience in school administration, organized, with education or experience abroad.

Competitive compensation package including travel expenses and housing stipend. Compensation commensurate with experience
