Job Description

Inclusion and Protection Officer (2) based in Sindhupalchok and Nuwakot. Job Duration: One year

This is a middle level position in the CSRC team who is responsible for managing earthquake response project in Nuwakot and Sindhupalchok. S/he reports to the Programme Coordinator. This is a field based position.

a. Areas of Responsibilities
The Inclusion and Protection Officer takes overall responsibility of smooth running of project activities in the district following approved work plan and budget. S/he carries out monitoring of project activities and ensures that the project is on the right track. S/he takes responsibility of project planning, budgeting, implementation and quality assurance. S/he establishes rapport with district level government and non-government stakeholders and promotes collaboration and partnership. S/he is responsible for producing reports as required by CSRC management and funding partners. Further, s/he supervises project staff and motivates them in achieving project results.

b. Experiences and Skills
The applicant must have: i) at least two years practical experience in protection and inclusion issues ii) Design and effectively execute of the Inclusion and Protection activities iii) Educating community on entitlements of older people and design the process of claiming it (such as social pension, medical facilities, transport discount etc.) from governments and other stakeholders.
iv) Organizing the advocacy initiatives for the implementation and required amendments in the policies.

Desired skills of the applicants include; practical experience of managing disaster management related programmes/projects, good rapport building skills with stakeholders, good communication verbal and written Nepali and English languages, good understanding of local languages.
 
c. Academic Qualifications
This position requires minimum Bachelor degree in development studies, humanities, community health, sociology/anthropology or equivalent subject.
