JOB DESCRIPTION 
Human Resources and Organizational Development Manager (HR & OD Manager) 
 
SUMMARY 
The HR & OD Manager is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of operations and services of the Human Resources Department including Talent Management & Recruitment; Employee Relations; Training & Development; Compensation and Performance Management for an in-house staff strength of 150+ employees; as well as consulting services for external clients. The HR & OD Manager should be a visionary leader and be able to contribute to the growth of core HR services in Nepal.  
 
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
ï‚· Work closely with various clients, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers (of client organisations) to understand and implement policies and procedures;
 
ï‚· Carry out recruitment and selection process including developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, short listing, interviewing and selecting candidates;
 
ï‚· Develop and implement HROD policies to ensure effective working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management;
 
ï‚· Prepare staff handbooks for clients;
 
ï‚· Advise on remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
 
ï‚· Undertake regular salary reviews; and interpret the review analysis to plan a way forward for
the organisation 
 
ï‚· Negotiate with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and working conditions;
 
ï‚· Administer payroll and maintain up to date employee records;
 
ï‚· Interpret and advise on employment law;
 
ï‚· Deal and handle grievances and implement disciplinary procedures;
 
ï‚· Develop HR plan and strategies, in consultation with line managers, to give direction to immediate and long-term staff requirements;
 
ï‚· Plan and deliver training and staff capacity building initiatives - including inductions for new staff;
 
ï‚· Analyse training needs in conjunction with clients / department managers.
 
ï‚· Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of the HR & OD functions relating to the organization
 
 
 

Job Specification

 
QUALIFICATION 
 
ï‚· Master’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related field and has worked for at least five years in a Human Resources role or above.
 
ï‚· Demonstrated evidence / potential of establishing and monitoring effective working relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders. 
 
ï‚· Knowledge of Human Resources strategic issues and current challenges with ability to conceptualize, plan, organize, and prioritize projects and achieve results. 
 
ï‚· Having at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role  
 
ï‚· Good understanding of Nepal’s Labor Law
