Job Description

The DPO will be chiefly responsible for designing and executing all of Possible's People Operations Strategy in Nepal. The goal of the position is to build and execute a vision to make Possible one of the country’s top places to work and prepare the organization for years of aggressive team growth. In doing so, the DPO will ensure program expansion aims can be achieved and support the organization to scale, replicating its model in new regions of Nepal.

Areas of Responsibility (AoRs):

1. Strategy

  1. Develop and adapt a People Operations Strategy for Possible's Nepal NGO in partnership with the Director of People Operations.
  2. Execute a vision for district-level scaling of our People Operations Strategy with an emphasis on the successes of the local program as a model for regional and national replication.

2. Management & Leadership

  1. Represent the organization externally to partners interacting with Possible on matters related to People Operations.
  2. Build, direct, and manage Possible's People Operations team in Nepal.
  3. Manage and develop team members aligned with Possible's management culture.

3. Recruitment, Onboarding, and Retention

  1. Create and execute a clear, efficient system for employee performance evaluation.
  2. Lead clear, effective on-boarding process for all new staff members, utilizing Asana.
  3. Provide trainings and guidance for all staff on company systems.
  4. Identify and structure professional development and training opportunities for team members.
  5. Lead recruitment strategy and process for hires within Nepal. 
  6. Decide and administer promotion processes and compensation adjustments.
  7. Work with other managers to execute employee terminations based on breach of contract or poor performance.

4. Policy and Administration:

  1. Lead overall People Operations policy and implementation responsibility in Nepal.
  2. Upgrade and align Possible's People Operations systems and policies with parent 501c3 company.
  3. Implement compensation and benefits policies.
  4. Identify and implement the needed technologies to efficiently execute People Operations decisions within a rural, challenging environment.
  5. Ensure inputs required for the People Operations component of the Quarterly Impact Dashboard are prepared accurately and on time for publication.

5. Programs

  1. Provide the overall support required in the domains of People Operations to hit programmatic milestones on time and within budget.
  2. Provide the policies, tools, and insight needed to support Directors in building and maintaining their teams.
  3. Make final decisions regarding administrative elements of payroll, benefits, and contracts.

6. Communications

  1. Demonstrate leadership by using Asana to create direct, responsive, and accountable internal communications within the team.
