Job Description

1. Position: Community Training Officer (Two)-Three to six months

Job Location: Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk

Purpose: To contribute towards creating a self-sustaining and self-managing process of community
improvement, access to basic needs in the community in a safe and protected environment through
active community participation in trainings.

Job Responsibilities:

ï‚· To build capacity of the community members and bring positive change in their perception, attitude and practices towards Mother and Child Care, Health and Nutrition, Education, Wash and Hygiene
ï‚· To instill sense of ownership among the community to improve their living style (Mother and Child Care, Health and Nutrition, Education, Wash and Hygiene) by developing strong linkages with government line departments, humanitarian organization, and donor agencies and mobilizing
locally available resources.

ï‚· Designing of training material/manual as per community needs in consultation with Gender
Equality and Social Inclusion Department.

ï‚· Formation/reactivation of VDC as per government approved structure, policies and procedures.
And utilizing them to ensure the community participation and representations for trainings

ï‚· Coordination with Community Members to finalize the Training Manual and Training Schedule.

ï‚· Conducting training as per approved training manual and methodologies.

ï‚· Undertake follow up visit and ongoing support to the community representatives by organizing
regular meetings, conducting appreciative inquiry, and giving constructive feedback. And ensure
the participation of all the minority groups, vulnerable peoples of the community in trainings.

ï‚· Writing meeting minutes, training reports and field visit reports as per donor requirements with
evidence (Photos, Attendance Sheet, Meeting Minutes)

ï‚· Produce success stories/case studies and share with communication section through concerned
supervisor

ï‚· Orient the concerned beneficiaries on project goal, objectives and target

ï‚· Contribute in short/long term plans, conducting need assessments and developing concept notes.

ï‚· Maintain updated record of concerned activities

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

ï‚· Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from recognized university with at least three years’ work experience in training and facilitation
ï‚· Good knowledge inventory and assets management

ï‚· Able to deliver report on time and as per requirement

ï‚· Excellent English & Nepali communication skills (oral and written)

ï‚· Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Suite
ï‚· Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
ï‚· Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and independent
