Job Description

Position : Capacity Building & Health System Strengthening Specialist

Level : 10 th

Type : Contract (Probation Period 6 months; Renewable based on performance)

Duty Station : Central Office, Pulchowk, Lalitpur with frequent field visits

Report to : Chief of Party

Qualification & Experience

The candidate should have a Post-Graduate degree in public health, medicine, management, social sciences or equivalent standard of education and 8 years of successful experience as senior-level technical or program manager of a comparable multi-dimensional USAID or similar health project providing capacitybuilding/health system strengthening, support to CSOs and public health sector. Candidates with proven experience in FP and training/capacity building will be given preference.

Major Functions

The Capacity Building & FP/health System Strengthening Specialist will assist Chief of Party (CoP) with all responsibilities, including the development and implementation of the project’s vision, strategy and technical direction. S/he will lead the design and be responsible for the management and implementation of capacity building initiatives for civil society, public health sector and media organizations in Nepal. S/he will also lead in analysing training and capacity building needs, designing complementary training modules for government and FPAN health workers, designing and overseeing implementation of supportive supervision and coaching/mentoring activities. S/he will coordinate with FHD and NHTC for the national FP training program
